The Abu Dhabi International Building Code mandates the use of tested and listed products that become systems when installed to systems resulting from ASTM & UL Fire Resistance standards testing. Fire resistance- rated walls, floors, fire dampers, fire rated doors, fire rated glazing and firestopping are all tested to the standards using common evaluation elements. Chapter 17 of the Abu Dhabi International Building Code has an option for Special Inspection for several building elements. In Firestopping, ASTM E 2174 & ASTM E 2393 Inspection Standards are used. IAS AC 291 Accredited Special Inspection Agencies brings credibility to the special inspection agency and inspectors.
