Bill McHugh

Bill Mc Hugh has been involved in the construction industry over 20 years, focusing on firestopping, roofing and waterproofing. He has been Executive Director of the Firestop Contractors International Association since its inception, serving as a steering committee member during the forming of the association. Bill was involved as a firestopping contractor and consultant in the Chicago, IL area before FCIA's incorporation.

Bill's depth of knowledge in Firestopping, Waterproofing and Roofing made him a leader in firestop systems technical information and industry practice, often asked to present and write articles for contractors, code officials, architects/engineers and building owners nationally. Bill is a past-president, Northern Illinois Chapter, and current institute director, North Central Region to the board of directors of the 18,000-member Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). He is an industry member of the Association of Licensed Architects and American Institute of Architects.

He has published a book - "A Firestopping Guideline for Mechanical and Electrical Installations" in 1994, was an author on the "Manual of Practice" FCIA Committee, and has numerous articles published in the National Insulation Association "Outlook" in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, the Association of Licensed Architects Magazine, Sealant Restoration and Waterproofing Institute and FCIA Newsletters.
