FCIA at International Code Council Show - Thanks to Don Murphy, PPMI Firestop, Inc., Rolland Price, Firestop Logistics, Mike & Pam Wellons, Firestop Carolinas, for working the shared IFC/FCIA Booth Space, at the International Code Council Show in Nashville, TN. FCIA had great interest in the FCIA Contractor Members, FM 4991 and the FCIA Manual of Practice. "We were real pleased with the turnout of inspectors at this event. There was a lot of interest in FCIA at this show, much like the CSI Show", stated Don Murphy, FCIA.

The Building Officials who visited the FCIA Trade Show booth expressed that one of the biggest problems on a construction project is firestopping. According to the building officials, the various "trades" think that firestopping is "just for the inspector". The inspectors state that they are only enforcing codes. The inspectors also know that firestopping is already part of the projects contract documents and specifications. Inspectors are also really concerned about liability, and prefer to see professional, educated firestopping contractors performing this important firestopping work.

Does this sound like a call for a Professional, Specialty FCIA Member Firestopping Contractor?

Firestop Industry Conference - FCIA's Firestop Industry Conference, November 12 - 15, 2003 will be a "must see" event.
