We are looking for a location for our 2004 Firestop Industry Conference
November 9-13, 2004, which will culminate in out 5-year anniversary
Gala. Meetings are planned for November 10, 11, 12 and Golf or another
activity on the 13th. To help our Program Committee make a decision,
please vote on the following options
- USA - San Francisco, CA
This may be too cold in November, alternatively we can look at
San Diego or Santa Barbara for Spring 2005
- Europe - Dublin, Ireland
The climate may also be disadvantageous and besides too far to
fly.
- Caribbean - St.
Thomas
Airfare would be about $510 as of 12/16/03. Great Shopping, etc.
- St. Thomas, Charlotte Amalie Harbor
- One hotel option would be the Frenchman's
Reef and Resort overlooking the harbor, or on the
beach. Closer to the airport, convenient to downtown.
Rate for rooms is about $179 bluff, $229 beach.
- Sugar Bay
- A second option in St. Thomas would be the Westin
St. Thomas Sugar Bay. Away from the airport, the other
side of the island. Cheaper, kind of isolated, but close
to a golf course. It may be more desirable to be close
to shopping, beach, and airports. $140 night for 2 people.
- Mexico
- Cancun
Maybe Cancun has a bit too much beach and not many other options
for entertainment as ruins are over an hour away. However,
tax deductibility is an advantage. Manufacturers may have
restrictions on travel outside the Continental US.
- Ixtapa
Airfare should be about $500-600 (from Chicago, a/o 12.16.03)
- Hotel options would include NH
Krystal Ixtapa - About $95 - $135. Bogart's Restaurant
is here!
- or the Radisson
- About $130 (Single) - $210 (Suites) Across from the
golf course, on the beach.
- Acapulco
Comparable to Ixtapa. Find Information at the Visitors
Bureau. A good hotel may be the El
Cano
