Healthcare facilities have a ton of 'barriers' to restrict fire and smoke spread.  Healthcare facilities are using commissioning for new construction and existing buildings.  Bill Koffel has been involved in commissioning and was recently appointed by the International Code Council's (ICC) Board of Directors to hte newly created Standard Consensus Committee on Commissioning.  This committee is charge with the development of a complete set of requirements addressing current best practices in the overall commissioning process.
